NUS MBA Business Study Trip To Korea - Friday - Yonsei University

Being done with all the company visits, the remaining half of Friday was reserved for a trip to Yonsei University, where we also had lunch... Established in the early 1900s, it is a Christian university which has become one of the top private universities in Korea.

A few interesting details though... You don't see this at NUS...

After an ok but cheap lunch, I took a walk around the immediate surroundings, hoping to relive what it felt like to be an undergrad and feast my eyes on some Korean chicks... I settled for some birds instead (all right, I was bored, ok?)

I wasn't bored when we walked through the older parts of the university grounds though... More like awed at the beauty of the campus.

The actual premises of the Business School were more modern however... We had a very interesting and informative presentation there...

After the presentation, we were joined by two good looking Student Ambassadors who would show us more of the campus as well as some well-known edifices. Like this statue of the founder...

As well as this one of the eagle, the emblem of Yonsei...

This is their library...

What struck one was the extent to which they made use of information technology...

This panel, for example, allowed one to get all sorts of information. Here, our guide was pulling up details of items for sale at an online flea market...

This one allowed one to call up copies of major newspapers from around the world, including the Straits Times...

Hereafter began a long trek to the restaurant where we were due to have dinner. It took us through an impressive amphitheatre.

These are the names of students who have graduated - engraved at the bases of the seats...

And these are the pristine woods through which we had to walk... If Korean students are anything like their Singaporean counterparts, one may imagine it wouldn't always be deserted at night...

After an elaborate and many-coursed dinner (of which I do not have any pictures posted because those that I took once again mysteriously disappeared!), we headed on to (Hong Yik?) for some karaoke...

This is Tae Wan, one of the undergrad Student Ambassadors who showed us around, belting out a Korean song... He was awaiting entry into National Service. A dancer and a model, he is was (is?) apparently a hit with the girls... I wish I had such talent and luck...

And that was that for our last day of official visits.. Sorry for the paucity of pictures... It's my cheap camera and picture leprechaun...
